15 - 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

→ For Serving

16 - Vanilla ice cream (optional)
17 - Homemade caramel sauce (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
02 - In a medium bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and baking powder. Add butter and cut in with a pastry blender or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Refrigerate while preparing the apple filling.
03 - In a small bowl, stir together melted butter and flour until smooth. Add lemon juice, milk and vanilla, stirring to combine. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour butter mixture over sliced apples and toss until evenly coated.
04 - Transfer apple mixture into a 20×20-cm (8×8-inch) baking dish and spread into an even layer. Sprinkle reserved crumble topping evenly over the apples. Bake for approximately 35 minutes or until golden brown and set on top.
05 - Remove from oven and allow to cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. For an enhanced presentation, serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce.

# Notes:

01 - A Johnny Apple Peeler can be used to efficiently peel, core and slice the apples all at once.
02 - Allowing the crisp to cool before serving helps the filling set properly.
