Pepperoni Pizza Pinwheels (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Dough

01 - 1 package (13 oz) refrigerated pizza dough or 1 batch homemade pizza dough

→ Easy Pizza Sauce

02 - 2 cups marinara sauce
03 - 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
04 - 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
05 - 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
06 - 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
07 - 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
08 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
09 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
10 - 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper

→ Toppings

11 - 1 cup freshly grated mozzarella cheese
12 - 1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
13 - 32 pepperoni slices
14 - 1/2 cup finely chopped green peppers (or combination of your favorite toppings)

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Roll out a long piece of parchment paper and lightly flour it. Roll dough into a 12×16 inch rectangle on the floured parchment.
03 - Whisk together all of the Pizza Sauce ingredients. Evenly spread ¾ cup of the sauce over dough, leaving a 1-inch border on the top long edge for sealing.
04 - Microwave pepperoni on a paper towel lined plate for 20 seconds then blot off any excess grease with paper towels.
05 - Evenly distribute mozzarella, pepperoni, green bell peppers, and Parmesan over the sauce.
06 - Starting from the long side closest to you, tightly roll up the dough, pinching in any escaping ingredients and seal the seam. Using a serrated knife, trim the uneven ends, then slice the roll into 12 equal pieces. For easiest cutting, first slice the roll in half, then each half in half again to create 4 equal sections. Cut each section into 3 pinwheels.
07 - Place each pinwheel, cut side up, on the prepared baking sheet. Bake at 375°F for 25-30 minutes or until dough is golden.
08 - Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes before transferring pinwheels to a wire rack. The pinwheels will firm up as they cool. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve with remaining warmed pizza sauce for dipping.

# Notes:

01 - To freeze: Allow baked pinwheels to cool completely to room temperature. Store in a large sealable plastic bag. When ready to eat, thaw, then reheat at 350°F for 10 minutes or until warmed through.
