Double Decker Tacos (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 1 pound lean ground beef
02 - 1/4 cup finely chopped yellow onion
03 - 1 clove garlic, minced
04 - 3 tablespoons taco seasoning
05 - 2 tablespoons water
06 - 1 can (425g) refried beans

→ Shells

07 - 8 fajita-size flour tortillas
08 - 8 large hard taco shells

→ Toppings

09 - Shredded cheese
10 - Shredded lettuce
11 - Diced tomato
12 - Sour cream
13 - Salsa

# Instructions:

01 - In a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef with onion and garlic. Stir and crumble the meat until fully cooked. Drain excess grease. Add taco seasoning and water, continuing to cook for about 5 minutes until the seasoning is fully incorporated.
02 - Heat the hard taco shells according to package instructions or in the microwave until warm.
03 - Take one flour tortilla and spread 2 tablespoons of refried beans evenly over the top. Place a warm hard taco shell in the center of the tortilla, then fold up the sides of the tortilla to adhere to the shell.
04 - Repeat the assembly process with all remaining tortillas and shells. Fill each taco with the seasoned beef mixture and your preferred toppings.

# Notes:

01 - For best results, warm the refried beans before spreading them on the tortillas for easier application.
02 - The soft tortilla wrapped around the hard shell helps prevent it from breaking when you bite into it.
